LA PIERCE COLLEGE LAB REPORT
by Fumitada Hattori.
We learned about LAN of Pierce College in room 1508 by Phil Mcblaine, lab manager. There are 3 servers. One of them in the room has Novel sever application,Pentium 166Mhz,32MB RAM,1.6Gbyte HD. Pierce's network goes to CSUN backbone T1 line
Computers are connected each other as peer to peer network with bus topology. Every computer has each IP address. Network protocols that are used in the room are TCP/IP and IPX. TCP/IP is a protocol for windows and IPX is for Novell.Coaxial and Twisted pair cables are used.
We cannot access those computers from outside, there's a firewall, gateway, but no proxy servers.
There's a print server there. It's a grey small box.The print server can control up to 3 printers.
Next, in 1507, There's an intelligent hub connected to 3 servers.
